Book Love 2016 here!I started 2017 with no particular books-plan but with a renewed library subscription. I also bought a lot of books in 2017. One each month. Few for myself. Few as gifts for others. Also bartered and loaned books. I ended up reading 35 books! Considering I have a day job I am extremely grateful for whatever drove me towards more reading despite the work, travel, personal life, running and sleep demands.According to a number geek friend, I read a book in ~10 days. Which as a statistic looks good, but I know how tough some of the books really were!So in no particular order here are few of my favorites from 2017!
- Homegoing by Yaa Gyasi
- When breath becomes air by Paul Kalanithi
- Neapolitan novels by Elena Ferrante
- Sapiens by Yuval Noah Harari
- The handmaid’s tale by Margaret Atwood
- Rashmirathi by Ramdhari Singh Dinkar
- Wonder by R. J. Palacio
- This is how we do it by Matthew Lamote
- My Daughter’s mum by Natasha Badhwar
- Uprooted by Naomi Novik
- Goodnight stories for rebel girls by Elena Favilli and Francesca Cavallo
I really wanted to love the 3 body problem books but I just found them to be difficult reads. Anywho, what did you read in 2017? What did you love? Share, much?As for 2018, this pile awaits me. Received few on birthday, others were greedily borrowed and bought. As of 2017, no particular reading plans to follow in 2018 but want to read books and stories from varied perspectives. If you have any recommendations then do share them here.Happy reading!
