Read Priya Ramani’s article a long time ago (when it got published i.e.). Though people ripped her apart on twitter for being so open about her judgemental opinions, I had mixed feelings about it.
And then Great Bong published this. Which I think is a really amazing post. He doesnt throw bricks at anyone but so aptly puts his point across.
Both articles are thought provoking. But I agree more with the latter for its democratic stance.
On a personal note, I think people everywhere are basically the same. Culture, surroundings, situations set apart their identities. May be. After all it always boils down to the conundrum of existence and identity, which is very individual to every existence. I am running in circles here, aint I ?

I concur!
And if we so much wanted to practice these beliefs outside our own confines, then the Bhopal case would not have become such a appalling instance of injustice..
As humans, we just care about 'as far as it does not affect me, I am not concerned'.. -
Agree to your post!! I just stopped short from writing a post on my blog after reading Ramani's article few days back. I personally feel, that things like nationality, religion, beliefs are very "personal" issues. These are to be 'practiced' in private and _not_ 'proclaimed' to the world. Dont you think? I mean what good is it going to do to anyone by the knowledge of your Indian-ness?! And moreover, Indian, not-Indian..does it even matter?? How we forget that we are humans first!!
